On 7 July 2009, the Community School Corporation of Eastern Hancock County Transportation Department had another safety inspection of the school buses. This is an annual inspection done each year by the Indiana State Police.
Preparation for the inspection actually takes place everyday in ensuring that our school buses are maintained to the highest standard. It is most important that each day our students are transported to and from school they are on a safe and reliable school bus.
By having a good maintenance program in place through out the year it assists us in the final preparations for the actual inspection.
The State Police arrive at 7:00 A.M. to start the inspection of our fleet of school buses. My staff is here at 4:30 A.M., to get the buses lined up and standing by. Each year is a little different and a new lesson to be learned from the inspections.
I greatly appreciate all of the hard work and dedication of our transportation staff, and also the maintenance staff at school that helps in making this happen each year.
There is no doubt that our school buses are ready to begin another school year. It is an honor and privilege to serve our community and I appreciate your support.
Thank You and God Bless!
